This year Ramadan will be during summer and everyone is wondering how she/he can control their thirst through day time. In fact, food plays a vital role in controlling thirst and maintaining energy in the human body.
What you MUST eat and drink during Ramadan?
• You must eat a lot of fruits and vegetables during night because they are rich in water and fibres. In addition, it takes a longer time to be ingested which reduces the feeling of thirst and hunger.
• You must drink sufficient quantity of water during night from time to time and it should be warm not cold to avoid any digestive discomfort.
What you MUST NOT eat and drink during Ramadan?
• You must not eat food that is highly concentrated in salt and spices because the body will demand a lot of water after that to maintain its balance.
• You must not eat sweets or sugary food during Suhoor because you will feel thirsty after some time.
Wrong eating and drinking habits:
• Drinking large quantity of fluids continually during night causes digestive discomfort. You should drink warm water partially from time to time.
• Eating fast during Iftar will also cause digestive discomfort. You should take your time in chewing your food before swallowing it for better digestion.
